Behind the seeds of WEMA

The Water Efficient Maize for Africa (WEMA) Project has in the past year released 16 maize hybrid. The conventional drought-tolerant hybrid varieties that are expected to provide 20 to 35 per cent more grain yield than other commercial hybrids are being sold under the trade name DroughtTEGO™.  This video highlights experiences of farmers in Western Kenya who harvested the first commercialized hybrid the WE1101.
